Founder and Managing Director of Merlin, George has been described as a ‘breath of fresh air’ to a sector often seen as relatively conservative and staid. 

 

His outstanding skills in leadership and his drive for knowledge have been recognised by many. Graeme Trudgill, the CEO of The British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) said, “George is an outstanding role model for the next generation of insurance professionals. In 2025, he was invited to join the Chartered Insurance Institute New Generation Programme and in 2026 was recommended to serve as a committee member on the Small-Medium Enterprise Brokers' Advisory Board (further details on George’s LinkedIn). 

 

He was the winner in the 2026 BIBA Young Broker of the Year Award, which had an applicant pool of 10,000 brokers. 

 

He holds a diploma in insurance from the CII and drives a business-wide approach of friendly, entrepreneurial and energetic broking. 

 

George is heavily involved in numerous industry organisations such as Propski, the Cannes Cannes Express (the annual train journey to MIPIM) and the Worshipful Company of Constructors. An avid networker and keen learner, George is also regularly seen at industry events across London and the UK.
